Mr. Conway is the managing director for the Burns & McDonnell Networks, Integration & Automation (NIA) group who speciailzes in the consulting, design, construction and installation of utuility telecommunications & automation networks. Our group seamlessly weaves together the essential components of telecommunications networks to harness the power of broadband, embrace the possibilities of LTE and explore emerging technologies. We develop vital infrastructure with comprehensive solutions and a holistic approach, empowering our clients to navigate the evolving communications landscape with confidence.
Mr. Conway is an electrical engineer specializing in telecommunications and network engineering with over 20 years of diverse experience in the telecommunications market. He leads over 450 professionals who execute the design, installation, commissioning and construction of primarily utility communications projects that span five core competencies: Networks, Automation, Wireless, Fiber and Infrastructure. Prior to his current role at Burns & McDonnell, his primary role as project manager and lead electrical engineer was in support of the upgrade and expansion of various power delivery communications wide area networks (WAN) for electric utility companies in the United States. These networks support various operational (i.e., SCADA, DA, AMI, teleprotection, etc.) and enterprise (IT) utility applications via fiber optic cable and microwave radio transport networks using MPLS, Carrier Ethernet, IP and legacy SONET & TDM technologies. These projects include delivery models spanning from pure consulting, to design-build or engineering-procure-construct (EPC), to final testing, commissioning and cut-over.
Prior to joining Burns & McDonnell, Mr. Conway designed, planned and analyzed local and inter-office copper and fiber optic telecommunications networks for one of the largest local telephone companies in the United States.
