Lightning can affect electronic systems, often in catastrophic ways. This presentation will review some of the problems and suggest practical mitigation methods to reduce system susceptibility. Our discussion will concentrate on radio antennas feeding into small shelters or enclosures, along with proper grounding, inductance effects, soil quality and multi-point grounding. A small bibliography of relevant literature is included.
