With a legacy SCADA system nearing end-of-life, a communications upgrade was a priority for Talquin Electric Cooperative. They used the opportunity to deploy a decentralized network using Mimomax’s Tornado radios to boost resilience and increase coverage to sites across their entire territory. In this session, Nathan Sutfin, Network Manager at Talquin Electric Cooperative and Keith Woodall, Regional Sales Manager at Mimomax, will look at the impact of terrain challenges such as low-lying sites on RF connectivity, mitigating interference in noisy spectrum and using sectorized deployments to improve territory-wide visibility.
